Sleigh the Holidays with These Hot Trends!

Sleigh your Holiday parties with these bold fall/winter Trends! I must say these looks are def bold and exciting. A little confidence is all that’s needed! Lets start with the most shocking of bunch the trending red eye shadow. This one goes against the grain a bit, its basically an unwritten rule to avoid red around the eyes because it could easily make you look sickly or draw unwanted attention to redness like blemishes. That being said this could easily get you on santa’s naughty list.  So here are some of my favorite red eye shadow looks done right!

Try this look using a deeper red and dark browns to reinvent the traditional smokey eye!

 

For a more wearable everyday look try a lighter red that’s more pinky. I love this look especially for my beauties with blue or green eyes that will make those babies POP!

 

I tossed this one in too because I love the gold touch to the brows!

If you’re not feelin the red eye shadow you can always try a bold red eyeliner for a more subtle look. As if red on your eyes could ever be subtle but you know what I mean!

 

Next up dazzle people with glitter lips! I am personally drawn more to the dark, plum and red glitter lips so I have picked out a few of my favorites. Be on the lookout for my tutorial on the how to recreate glitter lips. You will need loose sparkles, lipstick, lip gloss and makeup brush for applying the glitter. They do have full kits available at Sephora that will supply you with everything you need.

No Heat Curls: Oh How I Love Thee Curls Let Me Count the Ways!

 

No Heat Curls are my absolute favorite curls so I decided to take the plunge and share them with you in a video. Oh how I love thee curls let me count the ways for you!

1. These Flexi-rods are super cheap, easy to find at any Sallys Beauty or local Beauty Supply shops. They can be in the section with the rollers and perm rods. They are about $6.00 for 10 rods.The Amount of packages you are going to need will depend on the amount of hair you have on that noggin.
2. You can use these with any hair type. For straight, stubborn to curl hair these work great for long lasting curls. For curly and wavy hair you can use these to uniform your curl, change up your curl to make it tighter or looser, and if you have any of those funky spots on your head where the curl just falls looser than the rest, use this technique as spot treatment in those areas.
3. They come in multiple sizes from 1/4″to 7/8″ which will give you everything from kinky tight curls to beach waves and everything in between. I used the Smallest 1/4″ and a few 1/2″rods in this video.
4. They require no heat! In a world where most women have more than one curling iron in their bathroom, mostly likely capable of getting as hot as 450 degrees and are using them daily this is a life saver. Give your hair a break!
5. They look completely different from hot tool curls because they will give your curl a more natural vibe. People will ask me all the time If this is my natural curl!
6. They take about a total of 15mins. Using your favorite mousse either on damp or dry hair, wrap them, then sleep, let it dry naturally or use a hair dryer on them. Unwrap and break up the curls with your fingers. I choose to wrap my hair damp, sleep on them and the curls last days like this. Wrapping them with dry hair the curls will drop faster.
7. I have styles for days with only 15 minutes of work! I love to wear it down and wild the first day. Next day I will usually pin it up somehow. 3rd or 4th day some of the curls are loosening so I will brush it out, wear it big and wild either down or in some type of pony. Time to wash day I will usually put it up in a bun or top knot.
8. Also these curls caught the attention of the man of dreams 😉

Lastly some tips for you

1. No need to be overly neat with your sections I don’t even use a mirror.
2. The smaller the section=more rods, tighter curls
3. For overnight I usually wrap my head or cover it with a cap. It helps to not rough up the hair, and makes it a little more comfortable while sleeping.
4. If it comes out to curly for your comfort wear it up the first day. Use bobby pins and your eye for beauty to pin it up in a unique style.
5. Use a hat, headband or bandanna for extra fun.
